In many countries, homosexuality is still criminalised with severe punishments.

Life sentences exist in places like Gambia, Ghana, Tanzania, and Barbados, while others like Malaysia impose 20 years. Countries such as Egypt and Kenya give sentences of up to 17 and 14 years, respectively. Shockingly, the death penalty remains in force in Mauritania, Somalia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and others under specific laws. Fines, torture, and imprisonment for LGBTQIA+ individuals are widespread, with punishments ranging from whipping to death. This is unacceptable, and we firmly oppose these human rights violations.
